Java Developer

Job Responsibilities:

Perform in depth requirement analysis.

Provide assistance in the architecture, design and coding of complex software modules.

Perform complex product design, systems analysis, programming activities, and any research that's necessary.

Participate in design, code, and documentation reviews.

Prepare technical documentation of product sub-systems.

Research new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.

Willingness to train on and learn new technologies * such as Vignette, Portal/Portlet Development.

 

Required Skills:

- Minimum 5 years core Java experience.

- Minimum 5 years experience in web development technologies and frameworks ( JSP, JSF, servlets, Spring Framework, Struts, application servers)

- Minimum 5 years experience working with relational databases and related technologies/frameworks (JDBC, ORM tools such as Hibernate, etc)

- Minimum 3 years experience implementing web services technologies (XML, SOAP, WSDL, REST)

- Experience in Scrum or other agile development methodologies.

- Shows a thorough understanding of technology used and projects worked on.

- Strong design capability. Thorough understanding of object-oriented design.

- Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to articulate complex ideas.

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

 

 

Desired Skills:

Experience working with Ajax technologies (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, XSLT, etc)

Ability to interact with Content Management Systems

Commercial Software implementation/customization/integration

Understanding of JSR-168/286 Specification.

ETL Experience

Past success in building a variety of portlets, look and feel templates.

Rich Internet Application experience.

Experience in TDD (Test-driven Development)
