Position Summary:
Database Administrator - Ability to configure database software, develop and implement a physical database design, create tables, indexes, business rules, and security authorizations.
Responsibilities:
-Logical Data Modeling and Physical Data Modeling for Oracle dbs using Power Designer -Modeling using both normalized design and star schema / snowflake schema design -Analysis of Source system screens and derivation of Reporting wire frames. -Work with business and technical analysts to create relevant subject areas and views of a large data model to help them in their analysis tasks. -Make modifications/enhancements to existing large data models. -Make modifications to other smaller -Help dba and technical analysts with determination of appropriate indexing, partitioning etc. -Create documentation on the model/database including appropriate join strategies etc for use by etl and report developers
Qualifications:
10+ years of Database administration as a database modeler. Knowledge, familiarity a/o experience with the following technologies: Oracle, Sybase, DB2, MS SQL Server, ODBC, Power Designer, Unix, Wintel, SQL, and n-tier application models.
Success Patterns and Personal Qualities:
Must have excellent troubleshooting and communication skills. Must enjoy team environment on group projects in addition to individual projects.
