Description:
This position is for a Performance Analyst for the Service Management Availability Management team. The analyst will primarily be responsible for working within the HP-Business Activity Center tool to perform availability management activities around the Plan, Measure and Improve services. The work will be a mixture of development and support. Initially these analysts will be working on the migration activities to convert HP BAC VuGEN availability monitoring scripts into the HP BSM tool, as well as RUM monitoring solutions within the tool. They will be working with Configuration Items and creating robust views for data consumption. They will need to be able to perform analysis on customers data to assist with availability improvement efforts as needed.
Responsibilities:
1. Work with business partners and subject matter experts to identify requirements related to proactive monitoring
2. Responsible for driving the Availability Management processes from requirements through delivery
3. Provide coordination between multiple parties to design, develop, test, and integrate proactive monitoring and management of the system
4. Work with ITSS and other service areas to ensure smooth transition of the monitoring and management of the system
5. Provide technical guidance to application areas on Availability Management processes
6. Diagnose and resolve complex problems and issues
7. Maintain solid relationships and strategic partnering with business partners, team members, and strategy and enablement leads
Technical skills desired, but expect some training will be required:
Scripting/language experience: PERL, VBScript, .NET, Java, C/C++, C#, SQL, Oracle
Familiarity with the following tools: HP Service Manager, BPM, RUM, BAC, BSM, VuGen, Site Scope; Crystal Reports; FileNet; Log Parser; Lotus Notes; Performance and Automation Tools; IT SolCert; LDAP; IHS
- ITIL v3 Foundations is a plus
Soft Skills Desired:
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Team Player with good relationship and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated learning agility and solution provider skills
- Strategic and creative enterprise thinker
- Ability to influence, persuade and be decisive
- Good time management skills
- Experience with Vendor products a plus
