Position: C# Developer with WPF

Location:  NY

Duration: 6+ months

This is a hands-on development role that will require some independent work with users to gather requirements while working on web-based applications using Java based technologies.

 

Responsibilities

• Application Architecture & Component Design and Development:  This being the primary activity would require working on one or more products through the product life cycle. (70%)

• Testing: Follow Test Driven Development guidelines to perform Unit, Integration, and Load testing. (10%)

• Production On-Call Support: as part of team rotation, perform Level 2 (24*7) production support. (5%)

• Performance Fine-tuning: Work on increasing the application throughput and response times and working through constraints. (10%)

• Release Management.  (5%) 

 

Basic Qualifications 

 • Superior communication skills as developers interact directly with users to get requirements and provide support

• 5-10 years of application development experience with multi-tier architectures

• A passion for developing intuitive user interfaces

• In depth experience with multi-threaded, asynchronous and real time C# WPF, MEF and MAF, VSTO GUI development

• Experience implementing applications software within Microsoft Outlook  is essential

• Solid experience working in an Service-Oriented-Architecture environment – building and consuming services

• Strong OO Analysis and  Design Patterns experience

• Strong database skills, preferring experience with DB2 (8.x/9.x)

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills 

 Preferred Qualifications 

 • Investment banking within a Sales environment.

• Release process:  Previous experience in an environment using automated and controlled releases
