Job Title: Sr.Java Developer

Duration:6+Months

Location: NYC

Rate:DOE

 

 

Senior Java/J2EE & Database Developer/tech lead for Cash Securities Operations applications in Investment Banking.

 

Key  Deliverables:

• Should be able to quickly understand and grasp new idea, guide and provide technical leadership to offshore team
• Interface with different stakeholder on the client side in order to ensure timely code release
• Review detailed design produced by developers against technical specifications for accuracy and good development practice.
• Manage timely delivery of code from offshore developers and ensure the solution adheres to the design and technical specification through code reviews; flagging issues when necessary.
• Should not be shy of rolling up the sleeves and write code.
• Ensure that unit tests are executed by developers.
• Support of all testing phases.
• Assistance with deployment of code
• Promote the use of Test Driven Development and end-to-end test packs.

 

Qualifications/competencies:

• Senior J2EE developer/tech lead with strong back ground in Core Java, Weblogic, & JMS.
• Should have at least 5 years of experience with database development using any of the commercial RDBMS.
• Should have experience delivering end-to-end straight through processing applications.
• Should have experience coordinating with offshore developers and providing development leadership.
• Should have gone through a architecture, design and development lifecycle.
• Should have communicated design using a design document to the development team.
• Experience with Test driven development a plus.
• Some Oracle database development experience is mandatory.
• IB background.
• IB Operations experience is a huge PLUS.
• IT related Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
