Role Description:

 

Responsible for overseeing and or participating in the design, integration, operation and management of clients complex enterprise network that will internetwork a variety of platforms, operating systems, network topologies and network protocols. The Network Engineer will also provide technical support by analysing hardware and or software data, identifying the root cause of the problem and implementing the appropriate solution. The Network Engineer will assist in the research, identification and deployment of solutions that meet business requirements for availability, reliability, scalability, performance, security and cost and that best leverages and integrates with the existing and planned IT infrastructure.

 

The Network Engineer possesses an enterprise view and understanding of the systems and technologies in place. This person has moderate to high level of experience with multiple technical areas and is a subject matter expert (SME) in at least one area with routing, switching, Firewall, or VPN.

 

Network, voice and video hardware/software experience with vendors such as Cisco (required), Checkpoint, RSA, Polycom, Solarwinds, F5, Infoblox, VMWare Experience with Cisco Nexus series Switches.

Experience with internetworking multi-site/multi-OS (Windows, Unix, Linux,) environments.

Experience with Internet edge solutions design, redundancy, and support.

Experience with server virtualization and associated networking requirements.

Experience with blade server technologies and associated networking requirements. Experience in networking protocols that include TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, 802.1X.

Experience with network services that include LAN, WAN, WLAN, MPLS, SSL VPN, application load balancing, remote access services, and network monitoring services.
