POSITION SUMMARY:

Describe the basic purpose of this position.  Summarize the major functions and duties. Responsible for developing application features using the latest PHP version, Zend technologies, JQuery, CSS and HTML. These technologies form the basis for our advanced MVC UI architecture that is skin-enabled and mashable. Candidates must have the ability to take a project through the entire Software Development Life Cycle working collaboratively in a team environment. Our SDLC and toolset is agile and highly collaborative with industry leading practices such wiki documentation, issue tracking system and distributed version control systems. This position is great for developers who want to work in a commercial SAAS product development environment and loves to learn.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Describe the essential functions of the position.  List the general, critical functions that must be achieved to successfully execute this position.

·         Create robust, extensible web applications using Zend technologies (Zend Framework, Zend Studio for Eclipse and Zend Platform), PHP 5.0, JQuery, CSS and HTML.. ·         Design application features collaboratively with product managers, creative designers and technical leads. Create functional specifications and design documents as needed. ·         Manage work on an ongoing basis to ensure target, on-time delivery and provide continuous improvement and updates. ·         The ability to write clear specifications and to explain technical ideas and designs to peers and management, and independent problem solving abilities are required. ·         The candidate must be able to work in a team environment, taking project from specification to release. ·         Must have a proven record of delivering software products.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Describe the training, education, knowledge, or certification required to be qualified to perform this job.  What type & length of experience is required?  List specific types of skills or abilities necessary.

·         8+ years of experience creating commercial web applications using PHP ·         Expertise in JQuery with experience in developing JQuery plug-ins ·         Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming practices and Model, View, Controller paradigm. Experience with use of OO constructs in PHP 5.0 is a plus ·         Proficient in SQL and understanding of relational database and schema creation. ·         Commitment to quality, customer service and teamwork. ·         Technical skills: PHP, JQuery, Object-oriented programming, CSS, HTML, SQL, XML, SOAP, Linux (shell scripting with Perl and basic understanding of Linux tools), and Apache web server (basic configuration knowledge). ·         Experience working with Java, C#, or other pure object-oriented language a plus. ·         Experience working with Zend Technologies and Atlassian tools a plus. ·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ·         BS in Computer Science or Engineering or related field preferred.
