Hotlist-Hotlist Need Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Support Consultant

Position:    Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)Location:   St Louis,MO

Duration:   1 Year

 

Essential Responsibilities

·      Develops and maintains Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) procedures for routine administration including backup/restore, allocation, archival, shutdown, and startup processes.

·      Works with management to develop strategies needed to support the VDI environment.

·      Provides recommendations for maintaining and improving the VDI environment, such as capacity thresholds, security gaps, patch levels, hardware, etc.

·      Analyzes the results of workflow plans, monitors the operating systems and recommends change to improve VDI processing and utilization.

·      Performs capacity analysis/planning, monitors and troubleshoots issues related to storage, virtual desktops and VMWare View connection broker.

·      Maintains and modifies backup and recovery procedures.  Plans and recommends modifications or additional equipment to increase the capacity of the VDI system.

·      Provides third tier support to VDI customers for issues related to the VDI environment.  May interact with network services, application teams or vendors to restore service and correct the core problem. 

·      Responsible for the VDI systems life cycle including testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting VDI software that is delivered on time and within budget.

 

Minimum Qualifications

·      High school of GED equivalent

·      Professional work experience - 5 years or more

·      Technical expertise in one ore more IT Infrastructure areas - 5 years or more

·      Technical expertise in the VDI Infrastructure area - 2 years or more

·      Technical documentation writing skills - 3 years or more

·      Practical knowledge of technical analysis -3 years or more

·      Good communication skills, both oral and written
