Summary:
The Sr. SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for performing all SAP Basis activities as well as providing guidance on design architecture, installation, maintenance and support of multiple SAP landscapes. The position is also responsible for performing ORACLE DBA activities for non SAP and non SAP Systems
The candidate must be proficient in the administration and maintenance of multiple SAP systems as well as have sufficient knowledge of concepts to allow for system landscape design. Administration will include performing installations, upgrades and providing on-going maintenance on various SAP systems. The position will also have overall responsibility for ORACLE DBA activities for SAP and non-SAP systems.
Responsibilities:
* Architectural design, deployment, configuration and ongoing maintenance of multiple SAP landscapes - ECC 5.0, ECC 6.0, SAP R/3, Solution Manager, SAP BW, SAP HR, SAP SRM, XI/PI, Enterprise Portals, SAP GRC 5.3, and other SAP components
* Provide operations support for SAP systems and technical infrastructure, including but not limited to transport administration, printer administration, user accounts and authorization.
* Work in a mixed server environment covering Linux, Unix and Wintel servers using Oracle and ORACLE Server databases
* Administer and ensure that system service-level patches and backups are in place for all technical components related to the SAP solution.
* Proactively monitor systems and perform root cause analysis of production, QA and development system issues using CCMS, Solution Manager and other 3rd party software.
* Performance management and improvement of SAP, application tuning, prevention and application optimization activities.
* Perform background job configuration, monitoring, and maintenance.
* Perform SAP application upgrades, homogeneous system copies and redirected restores, Install, configure and use SAP Solution Manager for technical tasks, Configure, manage, and monitor TMS (Transport Management System), Export and import transports.
* Designs, develops and implements disaster recovery practices, procedures and plans for SAP environment.
* Responsible for supporting and implementing technical integrations of global 3rd party applications (like VERTEX, SEAL, RIGHTFAX and other applications as needed) with SAP
* Maintain strong and effective working relationships with SAP Applications owners, IT Infrastructure team and OS/Network Team.
Oracle DBA Responsibilities:
* Install, configure, upgrade, migrate and patch Oracle 9i/10gR2/11g databases in heterogeneous environment.
* Extensive experience in a production Oracle 9i/10gR2/11g environment including RAC, PL/SQL, OEM Grid control, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, Partitioning, database tuning and troubleshooting.
* Replication, log shipping, Multi-instance clusters, GEO Clustering and other data transfer methodologies.
* Performance tuning on the server, database and query level.
* Logical database design and normalizationdata modeling techniques.
* Identify and develop solutions for optimizing reports and queries against Terra-Byte sized databases.
Education and Experience:
* BS Degree in Information Systems or a relevant field
* At least 8 years IT or equivalent business experience, including at least 5-7 years on SAP Basis on multiple SAP Environments (Linux, Unix, Windows)
* 2-3 years experience as a ORACLE DBA on multiple large scale databases.
* Extensive experience in administering ECC 5, ECC 6, GRC 5.3, BW, XI/PI and other Netweaver components.
* Strong working knowledge of SAN, OS, Network and advanced hardware concepts.
* Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills.
* Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy.
* Works well under stress with the ability to deliver on time.
* Strong working knowledge of system administration and application administration procedures, not limited SAP
* Strong Communication, presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills
