Description:

This position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining RDBMS structures to support business needs and application development, utilizing strong communications and prioritization skills. Will coordinate, review, analyze and approve the physical database requirements of databases and all associated objects; such as, but not limited to the applications that access the RDBMS structures.

Essential job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Develop, implement, and maintain RDBMS data structures in test, quality assurance and production environments utilizing current standards and procedures
• Provide performance-related and system support for RDBMS data structures in test, quality assurance, and production environments utilizing current tool-sets.
• Ensure database connectivity requirements are met
• Provide project leadership ability for short-term projects
• Provide 24 hour on-call support on a rotation basis

Knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to be successful in this role include:
• Knowledge of SQL 2000/2005/2008
• Design and implementation of high availability solutions (Mirror, SQL Clustered Configurations, etc.)
• DBA tool, such as Performance Tuning and Capacity Planning.
• Analysis and Reporting Services on SQL.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work 24 hour on-call support rotation

Required education and experience includes:
• Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum of 10 years work experience with Relational Database Management Systems with SQL Server
• 6 years work experience with Relational Database Management Systems with a combination of SQLSERVER 2000/2005/2008
• 6 years work experience with systems development methodologies
• 6 years work experience with the design, creation and maintenance of database structures
• 6 years work experience with the development and revision of database standards, procedures and strategies

Additional preferred skills include:
• Experience with Oracle and/or DB2
