Technical Manager (Java)

Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of development engineers providing application support for all integration services, client facing tools and the e-Commerce platform.
- Provide Technical leadership to help develop and execute support processes to resolve critical production defects within establish SLAs.
- Act as primary liaison to various THE CLIENT teams such as Project Teams, Product Managers, DBAs, systems engineers and Operations.
- Actively mentor and groom existing THE CLIENT development resources to become proficient in leading technologies, including a thorough understanding of the THE CLIENT e-Commerce platform.
- Advocate new tools and processes to continuously improve system functionality and performance
- Interact with internal and external product and software teams on requirement analysis, technical assessments, and implementation strategy to ensure scalability, availability, security, and maintainability characteristics.
- Promote highly collaborative, team-oriented environment, working closely with all levels of product, services, and third-party development teams.
Required Skills:
- BS in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent), with strong competencies in object-oriented development, data structures, algorithms and software design and architecture.
- 5+ Years hands-on programming experience with J2SE and J2EE technologies.
- Strong knowledge of algorithms, design patterns, and implementation approaches (e.g. MOM, SOA, and Grid).
- In depth knowledge of event-driven and service-oriented architecture.
- Hands-on development experience in enterprise service bus, messaging framework, web service (e.g. RESTful and SOAP), identity management, and security solution.
- Familiar with common web backend technologies and/or frameworks such as Spring Framework, Spring MVC, Struts, Apache Wicket, and/or JBoss Seam.
- Familiar with common web frontend technologies and/or packages such as HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript/Ajax, Flash/Flex, and/or jQuery/Dojo.
- Solid understanding and working experience of XML and related technologies (e.g. XSD, XSL, and XQuery).
- In depth knowledge of J2EE application packaging and deployment against Open Source (e.g. Tomcat, JBoss, and/or Jetty) or commercial (e.g. Websphere and/or Weblogic) J2EE servers.
- Experience in cross-platform development such as UNIX/Windows and Oracle/MySQL and skillful in UNIX shell scripts and command line tools such as sed, awk, etc.
- Working knowledge of automated build utilities (e.g. Ant and/or Maven) and Continuous Integration solutions (e.g. Atlassian Bamboo, Hudson, and/or CruiseControl).
- Solid grasp of software development lifecycle best-practices, methods, and conventions, including but not limited to Agile methodology, Test Driven Development, Source Code Management, Continuous Integration, Domain Driven Design, and Dependency Management.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in e-commerce application development.
- Experience with commercial supply chain, trading partner, warehouse, logistics management, marketing, and/or customer relationship management software.
- Experience in working with or developing Open Source projects.
- Experience with Oracle 11g and/or MySQL.
- Experience with messaging framework and/or solutions such as Mule ESB.
- Experience with Intershop Enfinity server- and/or client-side development.
