Application developer needed to build and support new web-based Insurance regulatory products. This position requires strong software development skills as well as in-depth database and systems knowledge. You will be working with the business to specify, design and implement business solutions to support content development and client facing web applications used to support client access to Insurance regulatory content. The role is responsible for the definition, development, delivery and integration of business solutions.
Duties include application design, application development; working with SQA to develop test and acceptance criteria and debuging. The role will work to ensure that our software development life cycle standards are adhered to.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with multiple teams of technology professionals who have a role in the creation, acquisition and rollout of vendor product solutions and internally developed solutions.
Produce applications that are adaptive to business and technology changes.
Evolve the technical and business models that support our enterprise; ensure that vendors and partners are in compliance with model standards and practices; set and maintain expectations for technical deliverables.
Work with the business to interpret and define business objectives and ensure that designs and implemented systems meet these prioritized requirements.
The ability to work with a variety of technical resources that are both WKFS employees and part of an outsourced development arrangement.
The ability to work cross-functionally and with many service providers and business partners.
The ability to negotiate acceptable tradeoffs and decisions that balance the needs of the product vision against the needs of the technical constituencies.
Mandatory: Client facing web development, C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server 2005, T-SQL, SSRS, 3rd party controls, Visual Studio 2005, 2008, 2010.
Business Modeling using Use Cases; UML modeling tools
Education and Experience:
BA/BS in Technology area (i.e. Computer Science) or related field or equivalent work related experience.
5+ years experience in software product development with progressive increases in leadership roles/ responsibilities
Previous experience with Microsoft web technologies.
Insurance, financial services and/or mortgage industry experience preferred.
Proven experience in documenting technical commitments through a software development lifecycle including providing specific project artifacts.
Demonstrated track record of successful product delivery within budget, schedule, scope and quality.
Outstanding communication (verbal and written).
Strong analytical and team-based problem solving skills.
Ability to negotiate resolution of issues and conflicts.
