Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Roanoke,VA
Duration: 6 Month
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The right candidate must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
Document the architecture of the team's products, including software functionality (SAD), integration points and platforms.
Establish and implement effective requirements practices, including use and continuous improvement of a requirements process.
Assist with the development of the team's policies, procedures, and tools.
Engage in projects extensively, including:
Initiation:
Work with the project sponsor(s) and Project Managers to document the project charter.
Map the charter to the software architecture diagram (SAD) to produce feasibility studies.
Work with the Project Manager to decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional and quality requirements.
Planning:
Collaborate with the PM to lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirements are well defined and can be individually verified during testing.
Collaborate with the PM to define how quality for the project will be measured, external dependencies, constraints, system & technical requirements.
Collaborate with the PM to participate in peer reviews to ensure that the requirements were interpreted correctly.
Execution:
Collaborate with the PM to manage changes to baseline requirements through effective application of project control processes and tools.
Identify industry and technology trends that can give my client a competitive advantage. Work with primary business(s) partners to ensure they understand the strengths and weakness of these trends and how my client can capitalize on them.
Required Skills:
5 years experience in Business Analyst role
Demonstrated leadership, customer relationship management and technical skills to be a productivity liaison between Business areas and the Systems Development team(s)
Identify key deliverables for the Development teams (Architectural Diagrams, UML diagrams etc.) and standardize them based on industry best practices.
Mentor the technical teams on best practices, strategic solutions, overall architecture and develop artifacts to support the SDLC.
Demonstrate a good understanding of appropriate technologies and should be able to develop this knowledge and the team's ability to address business demands on application requirements by engaging with industry leading partners.
Interact effectively with key Business individuals to provide insight into project requirements, ROI definitions by leveraging work products (SAD etc.).
Ability to create use cases to insure all requirements have been identified and Development and QA have a clear understanding of what the solution should cover
Manage the work that has been assigned with little oversight
