Position: Data Warehouse MS SSIS – ETL Developer/Analyst
Contract Role: 12 month
Location: Minneapolis, MN
This positions primary responsibility will involve creating solutions for data extraction from multiple sources, analytics, presentation, and reporting in a Data Warehouse environment. This position will also be responsible for integration of processes between various enterprise systems, and supporting the development, maintenance, and enhancement of a number of applications with varying complexity and requirements in support of district wide clients for payroll, HR, Tax, Benefits.
Key Qualifications:
1) Must have 5+ years' experience with Enterprise Level Data warehouse implementation. Through understanding of ETL methodologies, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing principles, approaches, technologies, and architectures including the concepts, designs and usage of data warehouses and data marts.
2) Ability to work closely with the data warehouse team to translate functional/technical specifications and logical data models into working databases, including relational and dimensional (star-schema/Snowflake) designs, fact less fact. Design-related tasks will focus on logical and physical data models for the history-tracking data warehouse and related data marts.
3) Should have strong skills(5+years)in Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 including
T-SQL programming
SQL Server Integrated Services (SSIS)
SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
Demonstrated experience in ETL and database design, monitoring and tuning, profiling and performance optimization including aggregate and index design, usage and options to improve load and extract performance.
Execute best practices and methods in a high volume environment.
Extensive knowledge with ETL toolsets like lookups, merges, SCD and transformations. Additional knowledge about Kimball method is a plus.
4) Experience with data quality tools and knowledgeable in data quality approaches and techniques along with data auditing techniques.
5) Provide support for existing back-end data warehouse processes including bug fixing and performance improvements.
6) 2+ years' experience in Agile BI project team approach. Understanding of scrum implementation and readiness to work across different technologies as and when needed.
7) 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
8) 2+ years with Biz talk document conversions and through understanding of XML, XSD design techniques.
9) 2+ years' experience with Embarcadero, Erwin and Power Designer tools for data modeling.
10) Ability to perform detailed data analysis (i.e. determine the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples) through Data discovery and profiling.
10) Experience with analysis services implementation and hands on experience with cubes, partitioning, MDX queries and updates.
11) Experience with payroll engine is a plus. Understanding of control /policy management with regards to data and following strict data governance techniques is a must.
12) Ability to document different process using VISIO, ER- Diagrams, and Gant charts.
