Role: Web FOCUS / BI Developer

Duration: Contractors 6+ months

Location:  Memphis, TN

Rate: $Open/hr

 

Experience Required:

• 6+ years of WebFOCUS programming including metadata, reports and dashboards (1 year with v7.x or higher)
• 6+ years of experience in information systems technology is required.
• 6+ years of experience with a formal project development methodology is required.
• 6+ years of proven leadership skills and ability to work as a team member is required.
• Ability to present complex technical concepts in verbal and written business documents is required.
• Ability to manage multiple projects / tasks consecutively is required.
• Familiarity with retail concepts is highly desired.
• Exceptional technical, logical, analytical and problem-solving skills are required.

 

Required Skills:

• Procedural Programming experience (e.g. C/C++, FOCUS, Java, COBOL)
• Database skills (DB2/Oracle)
• Working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
• Strong drive for results and ability to work independently as well as a member of a team
• Proven innovation skills
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated commitment to quality and project timing
• Experience in obtaining and understanding business requirements
• Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities

 

Desired Skills:

• Javascript, HTML, Perl, CGI
• Unix/Linux operating system
• Knowledge of Cognos & Impromptu reporting development
• WebFOCUS reporting server administration

 

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience or combination of education and experience

 

Job Description:

• Actively contribute in a cross-talented team comprised of analysts and developers to convert Cognos and Impromptu reports to WebFOCUS for the purpose of support and driving forward the corporate Business Intelligence (BI) strategy.
• Ability to build complex Reports and Dashboards using WebFOCUS and Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated proficiency with creating web-based parameter driven reports and graphs using WebFOCUS.
• Experience with using WebFOCUS to report from DB2, Oracle and other types of files.
• Experienced with production report design, testing, and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of data concepts and database design.
• Interface and communicate with business customers and team leads for scope, estimates, requirements and project deliverables.
• Interface with the various information technology groups, as needed, for source-to-target mappings and reporting interfaces.
• Work with DA's and DBA's, as needed, to manage changes.
• Create and maintain production support documentation.
• Use project management and systems development life cycle methodologies.
