Business Intelligence Developer

Fort Worth, TX 

6 month open-ended contract

$50.00 hourly rate

Description:

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in building semantic layers within BI tools in support of developing ad-hoc analyses and Data Visualizations.
Daily Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with business users to capture and document their analytical requirements
• Translate requirements into flexible semantic layers via Cognos and Tableau
• Using solid semantic layers, deploy solutions that provide easy to build ad-hoc analyses and visualizations
• Work cohesively with DBA, modeler, and developer team members
• Troubleshoot errors/issues with production reports
• Support end user ad-hoc query requests

Minimum Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience with Cognos Business Insight Advanced/Query Studio development is a must.
• Solid semantic layer development experience
• Must be proficient at writing ANSI Standard SQL preferably in a Teradata environment.
• Must have a high level of motivation to work closely with the business to develop an in-depth understanding of the Revenue Management data sources and actively seek new ways to discover patterns and anomalies in the data and develop technical solutions that identify process improvement opportunities
• Five years combined development experience using Cognos (Framework Manager, Business Insight Advanced/Query Studio and Dashboards) and Tableau (Data Connections, Workbooks, Dashboards).
• Self motivated, creative, dynamic individual with a positive attitude and able to work in an independent manner
• Must show a commitment to excellence and possess strong analytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
• Development in Tableau Data Visualization , Knowledge of Tableau administration, SAS programming language and ISPF are skills that would be a plus
