15+ years as a project manager, gotten PMI certified as a PMP in 2005, and managed many high technology projects which include Oracle, Informix, and SQL Server databases with MS Project, Excel & Word.  I have over 20 years in all forms of telecommunications, IT, business analysis and Web development.

last project was a CRM Healthcare provider using Oracle and in 30 days I scheduled a staff of 40 people, and 8 different projects with several dependencies between projects. They would maintain the plan themselves. The migrations were from Visual FoxPro and Oracle to .Net and SQL Server. These projects used the ICD9 codes for treatment and diagnosis and were migrating to include a more automated treatment plan as well as do an assessment to see what the likelihood of success was for a particular treatment plan, thus assuring the least cost and quickest recovery. Also on this contract I migrated from MS Project 2007 to Project 2010 with TFS and Sharepoint.

On an automated test operation (QA) for an optical DWDM network project with Lucent Technologies, I managed a matrix organization that had distributed resources in Boston MA, Columbus OH, and Raleigh NC to bring about a savings to Lucent of over $1MM in 2 years. On another project, my team completed work in 11 months at a cost of $3.5MM versus another team that worked on it for 5 years at a cost of $50MM. This accomplishment is proof of risk, scope, and time management as well as cost control.

In general, projects were all full life cycle (ALM/SDLC) projects that included requirements, cost and risk analysis, budgeting, staffing, change management, managing stakeholders expectations, etc. I have worked in organizations that were very strict (ISO9000 Level 3) and also very loose in terms of CM, QA/QC. My responsibility also included making presentations to high level management for buy-in as well as outside parties that had a stake in the project which included external customers, other divisions of the company, and third party vendors (COTS). SLA's were in place for external customers.

very technical, having started as a developer and grown into a PM role.  As such, I have done many design walk-throughs, test requirements to ensure adherence to standards. Also managed the customer relationships since they always want more than the budget will allow. I have done many project strategies and in some cases a full business plan.

consider best strengths that are not on my resume to be problem solving, being very technically adept, team building, creative, quick learner, and negotiating.

Thanks & Regards,

Pavan
